Case study: Red Bull Hangar-7

-----
Extensive multimedia equipment for the Hangar-7 at Salzburg airport.

The Hangar-7, originally intended to be only a home for the aircraft of the Flying Bulls fleet, is in every way an impressive and extraordinary site: it has become much more than a purley functional building because it is now a unique combination of aicraft hangar, art gallery, restaurant and event location.

Specifications:

Flying & taking off are to be executed using multimedia, incorporating the company’s CI. Terminals and special installations convey information and impressions on this theme. As the hangar is intended to be a location for entertainment, communication and “how to start a conversation” are a central requirement.

Solutions:
  • "Mayday" Bar: The aeroplanes in the interactive bar react to touch and they interact in different ways with objects that are set down on the surface of the bar.
  • Chat00: Between the Ladies’ and the Gents’ handwritten or drawn messages can be exchanged anonymously by means of touch screens.
  • Doppler Foyer: The Doppler effect can be experienced by means of movements of light and sound.
  • "Gate to the Heavens": Two huge LED columns show moving images on the topic of “flying”.
  • Taxi Run: The access road to the hangar is stylized as an airport taxi run with special models of blue and green LEDs.
  • Invisible sound systems
  • Website: Concept and implementation of the corresponding website.
