Kulturfabrik Hainburg - media panel on the history of the landscape
On May 12, 2007 the new "Culture Factory" in the converted former tobacco factory in Hainburg was opened.
On the initiative of the province of Lower Austria the archaeology park Carnuntum revitalized the former factory on the banks of the Danube in Hainburg which will now be used as a central archaeological depot with workshops and offices for scientific research. On the second floor, rooms for exhibitions and events with a café and visitor information desk were created.
The projecting glass terrace provides a magnificent view of the river landscape and flood plain on the north bank. In this area, the Donauauen National Park contributes to the "culture factory" with a presentation of its own.
A "media panel" provides information on the history of the area, the flora and fauna found above and in the water and the development of the renaturized river bank. A film loop running on six monitors shows an animated feature on the development of the bank since 1773, images of the fauna found on the flood plain and a brief history of the power station that was once planned in Hainburg.
checkpointmedia was responsible for creating the panel (design & production: Arch. Gallister, MA-Tec), the audiovisuals and lighting as well as the production of the loop that consists of several films.
