The Imperial Palace (Hofburg) in Innsbruck is, along with Schönbrunn Palace and the Hofburg in Vienna, one of Austria's most culturally significant buildings. After renovation work that lasted a total of 15 years the Palace was reopened to the public on 18 June 2010. Austrian president Heinz Fischer ceremonially reopened the Palace in the presence of 400 guests.
checkpointmedia fitted Empress Maria Theresia's baroque state rooms and the Imperial Appartments with unobtrusive media installations that describe the history, uses and revitalisation of the Palace using historical and current images.
