Zaha Hadid wins Guggenheim Museum in Vilnius

Zaha Hadid won the competition for the Guggenheim Hermitage Museum in Vilnius, Lithuania, against the star architects Daniel Libeskind and Massimiliano Fuksas. The Guggenheim Foundation and the St. Petersburg State Hermitage Museum have definite plans for a new museum in Europe that will exhibit works from both collections. The new museum will also provide a home for the work of the Lithuania-born cinematic artist Jonas Mekas.

In the space of only three months, checkpointmedia developed a media concept for the entire building for Zaha Hadid and her team. This "media layer" is reflected in the landscape architecture as well as the building's numerous communication points and the media centres planned for it.
