On August 22, 2003, Red Bull opens its extraordinary Hangar-7 at Salzburg Airport. The planning, fittings and the entire audio/video technology were created by checkpointmedia, as were the multimedia attractions and the website.

"A hangar to take off...an architecturally and aesthetically ambitious edifice of glass and steel." (Der Standard)

The stunning Hangar-7 is more than just a home for the aircraft of the Flying Bulls because it is also a special place for events, gastronomy and culture. For the inauguration on August 22, the Salzburg Festival and Red Bull as host presents the "Helicopter String Quartet" by Karlheinz Stockhausen and Hubert Lepkas' "Taurus Rubens", a flight theatre in which men and aircraft interpret Greek mythology in a playful way.
The opening also witnesses the première of two special exhibitions: East Tirolean artist Jos Pirkner presents his impressive large-scale sculptures, and what is probably the most impressive vintage aviation photography exhibition in the world will be unveiled to mark the The Wright Brothers and 100 years of flight.

It is not only the architecture of the Hangar-7 that is out of the ordinary but also its multimedia equipment, which was planned and implemented by checkpointmedia. Apart from an interactive bar, chat facilities, sound installations and light projections nearly everything from the entire range of multimedia applications can be found.
