Erste Asset Management (EAM) coordinates and is responsible for all asset management activities within the Erste Group. Assets totalling around 44 billion euros are managed in eleven locations in Austria, Germany, Croatia, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary.
checkpointmedia assisted Erste Asset Management with a multiple-stage project to overhaul its website's graphics and structure of the website were overhauled. Websites for the individual countries in which EAM operates were redesigned with a view to consistency and coherence.

 

A comprehensive set of benchmarks was established in an initial consulting phase in 2012 and an analysis of the existing website was carried out. Subsequently, checkpointmedia played a leading role in the conception and development process, which focused on the presentation of the company’s products. Filters make it easy for users to go straight to suitable products. Detailed information on facts and figures relating to the fund is clearly set out on tabs.
In the course of the relaunch, the page and navigation structure was enhanced and texts and images revised. checkpointmedia is responsible for the concept, graphics layout and creation of the HTML templates and assisted s-IT with implementation in Erste Bank’s CMS.

The MAK – the Austrian Museum of Applied Arts / Contemporary Art is one of the most important museums of its kind in the world. Its unique collection represents an unparalleled mixture of applied art, design, architecture and contemporary art.

In cooperation with PEACH Kommunikationsagentur GmbH (Design), the visuals and technical features of the website have been relaunched lending it a moderrn look and feel that combines good design and technical functionality.

An article system based on a database and specially developed by checkpointmedia forms the heart of the website and presents articles in rotation using random and related content features. Since it is linked to an arbitrary number of other articles and media, an article can appear in many different places on the site, whilst needing to be edited once in the database.

checkpointmedia created the website using the new version of JART CMS (Version 4) which boasts even more intuitive usability and a new intelligent media database.

In the children’s museum ZOOM, children are welcome to ask questions, to touch and to feel, to investigate, feel and to play to their heart’s content in keeping with the motto of “Hands on, minds on, hearts on!” Here, children are encouraged to explore the world using all five senses, either on their own or in small groups.
The museum concept demands a booking system that can be used by both institutions and families alike to arrange visits for children of different ages to the museum and/or the studios and workshops.
checkpointmedia has enhanced the booking procedure and its presentation and has improved the interface with the internal ticketing system to allow for different forms of ticket issuance (online, over the counter etc.). On its first day online, approximately 24,000 tickets were booked using the new system.

The Stage and Film Design Department has turned itself into a laboratory for the investigation of current trends in scenographic areas, the interpretation of new scenographic areas and the design and creation of scenic spaces for stage and film. Particular consideration has been given to the historical and contextual relationships between theatre and the fine arts.

checkpointmedia developed the concept (graphics by Andreas Kaya-Fill/suite), carried out the technical implementation and designed the database for the new-look website for this course of study at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
Schedules and student details can be managed easily using a database. Information on the degree course can be retrieved and displayed via an interface with the university website without the need for editing.
The website also provides personal pages for lecturers to present themselves and their projects. Personal pages are also available for students for the presentation of texts, images, video and audio clips.

The Albertina in Vienna is one of the world’s foremost art collections. Since 1805 it has been housed in one of the most magnificent classical palaces in Europe, the Palais Albertina.
The website has been relaunched and given a new look. checkpointmedia redesigned the graphics on the home page and subpages in keeping with the Albertina’s CI. User-friendliness has been enhanced and the Flash programming replaced by jQuery which means the entire website and all its features can now be viewed on all mobile terminals too.

The future headquarters of the Erste Group – the Erste Campus – is brought to life for the benefit of staff and visitors through a multimedia exhibition in Vienna.

In the middle of Vienna’s new district "Quartier Belvedere", Erste Group is building its new headquarters, due for completion in 2016, on the site of the former Südbahnhof railway station. With this extensive project, Erste Group presents itself as an innovative and visionary corporation: the highly accessible location next to the new central railway station and the open architectural design create, not least as a result of shorter access routes and optimal communication channels, a living and working environment that is unmistakably geared towards the future. The Erste Campus will be a meeting place and a source of motivation and inspiration for staff and customers alike.

The visitor centre "Erste-Campus-Schauplatz" arouses curiosity and stimulates interest: even before the construction is completed, visitors can view, experience and discover the new headqurters. Why did Erste Group choose this site? How will this modern co-working space influence staff and customers? And what role does the open-plan architecture of the Erste Campus play?

The exhibition room invokes through a curving white wall the biomorphic form of the four building complexes that make up the Erste Campus. Large captions serve as a graphic signage system, while text passages, facts and figures as well as renderings and design plans provide information about key topics.
The directors of Erste Bank discuss the project in video clips, and the architects, Henke Schreieck, explain the design concept of this urban landscape. Multimedia presentations illustrate the development of the Erste Campus: a multimedia model enables visitors to undertake a virtual exploration of the building, interactively directing the building work completed so far. An animated artist’s impression reveals how the appearance of the Erste Campus will change with the seasons.

EGOS (European Group for Organizational Studies) is a scholarly association that focuses on the theoretical and empirical advancement of knowledge about and within organizations. EGOS currently has 2000 members worldwide and is the second-largest organization in this field after the Academy of Management.
Selected findings are published by SAGE in the journal “Organization Studies" and once a year an international conference takes place.
The 2012 EGOS Colloquium will be held in Helsinki, Finland, the World Capital of Design 2012, and has the theme “Design!?“. In good time for the Helsinki conference, checkpointmedia has revised the website content, improved its usability, adapted its graphics to tie in with the 2012 theme, “Design!?“, and has updated the technical features to the very latest standards.
checkpointmedia developed the comprehensive conference organisation system beforehand, and this has now been extended in the website’s background. It includes administration of membership, the online coordination of the themes of each conference, submission of short papers and papers, discussion and assessment of the submitted short papers and papers by the convenors as well as votes taken by the board on the budget and important issues.
There are various groups of members, and these have different rights which are administered centrally. Active members can book and pay for their conference, hotel and any additional services online using an interface with the local conference organizers. The local organizers can draw up the schedule and room allocation for the conference. All the information that is relevant to the programme is therefore managed centrally. The information ultimately chosen for inclusion in the programme - themes, papers and other information – can then be retrieved directly to produce the catalogue.
Dealing with several conferences at the same time has also made easier. While topics for the following year’s colloquium are being coordinated, papers can be adapted to the themes of the current colloquium and discussed online.
The next EGOS colloquia will be in Helsinki in 2012, Montreal in 2013 and Rotterdam in 2014

In a cooperative bank the customers are also its shareholders. Members are empowered to enter into a dialogue with the banker who in turn acts as an operative consultant with regard to members’ finances.

The new consultancy and event centre is proof of the fact that the Volksbank Hamm takes seriously its obligation to provide its members with information and transparency. At the centre, consultancy and training for members is provided in the form of seminars, the so-called “money schools”, and basic information is supplied in a multimedia exhibition in the specially constructed event tower.
Volksbank Hamm’s exhibition on finance and banking combines entertainment and information. The subject is treated in increasing detail in several didactic stages. The further one goes into the exhibition, the more exhaustive the information becomes. The exhibition starts with an introduction to the topics of "Cooperatives, Community, Public Welfare", focusing on the relationship between the bank and its members.
The second part of the exhibition deals with the perspective of individual members, highlighting their dreams, aspirations and needs. The way the bank responds to each member’s particular situation is shown in the form of overviews of asset goals and corresponding banking products. The question, “How does a cooperative bank actually work?” is at the heart of the final part of the exhibition which explains the system that governs the financial world. A social history of money helps visitors understand the role of cooperative banks in today’s society. In addition, an illustration of the most important relationships within the financial system helps them find their way around this complex and highly topical subject.
Besides the media infrastructure for the exhibition, checkpointmedia has also created a number of multimedia stations (concept and content design: Martin Burkhardt, Büro für Gestaltung, Baden-Baden). These include:
The members’ matrix: a monitor, split into various segments, shows a number of creative contributions from members (photos, videos, etc.), which emphasize that the bank is a community of members who help shape the bank and its development.
One of seven “asset goal balls”, with mini-sculptures portraying various asset goals according to which the bank classifies its products has been combined with multimedia elements.
Bubble art: using gestures and movements, visitors can produce graphic effects inside the projected image and can “juggle” with them. This installation points out in engaging fashion that one cannot fulfill all one’s dreams at once. The bank offers advice on how to keep an eye on all the possibilities available to members.
The periscope: the periscope shows a 360-degree panorama shot from the roof of the competence centre. In the photo, every branch of Volksbank Hamm and all the places of interest in Hamm are marked with a pin. Zooming in to a pin opens up pictures that show the branch or the place of interest in more detail.
The “wish-worlds”: Using a green box studio, visitors can project themselves into a number of wishful situations. The bank’s consultant can then take a screenshot of it, upload it to the monitor in his office and use it to break the ice at the interview.
Sliding monitor on the subject of “interest-rate development”: A large flat-screen monitor moves along the wall of the room, covering a distance of eight meters. As it passes along, it displays the way the interest rate develops: What effect do the loan’s term and accrued interest have on a loan or a savings account opened for a child that will run until he or she retires? The screen moves automatically once the topic has been selected and has an auto-return and automatic stop function (e.g. if a visitor knocks into it).

In its so-called “Members’ Oasis”, Volksbank Hamm offers a complete range of events and seminars covering all aspects of finance and banking.
checkpointmedia planned and installed the extensive media equipment, designing it to be flexible enough to be used for many different kinds of events. Particular attention was paid to the special requirements regarding the floor plan which involves being able to divide the room into a maximum of five seminar rooms by means of partitions.
In addition, concealed audio sources were installed on every floor, as were a digital display system for events and customer information and a network-based TV system with around 30 monitors for the consultants’ offices.

To coincide with the opening of Vienna Airport’s Check-in 3 terminal, the updated version of the interactive airport map goes online. The map is now available on both the website and mobile terminals.
A variety of filter options, e.g. filter by categories such as shops, restaurants and airline desks, and the individual selection of particular areas of the airport mean that passengers can get their bearings at the touch of a button and can see where to go quickly and easily even when pushed for time. Current location and other detailed information can be called up using the map itself or an alphabetical list.
In the update, the conceptual design has been optimized on the basis of geographic coordinates. The map was rebuilt in html/jQuery instead of Flash: this means that it can now be viewed and used on mobile terminals as well. The expansion of the Check-in 3 zone has been incorporated into the map and the underlying database restructured. Finally, the new layout has been adapted to reflect the Vienna Airport livery.

Betting games were already available on the intranet for the 2008 European Championship and the 2010 World Cup for football fans among the staff at Vienna Airport.

Now the betting game "Intra-Wett" has been updated and enhanced with new functions for the 2012 European Championship. A player can place a bet on the outcome of a football match and/or the goal difference. From the quarter-finals onwards, additional points can be won for correctly predicting extra-time or penalty shoot-outs. Players can check their current score in the personal results list. In addition, Intra-Wett provides a VIE high score list so that staff at Vienna Airport can compare their scores with each other.

With its new functions, Vienna Airport's intranet – programmed by checkpointmedia and designed by Vienna Airport and Interbrand – aims to support in-house workflow and communications. All the applications were incorporated into a standardized framework and include the internal telephone directory with a comprehensive database and numerous export functions, a virtual flea market plus notices of special offers for staff (free tickets, concessions, travel offers etc.), an editable event calendar for official and in-house events, the organization’s handbook with a comprehensive document management system including a variety of sort and search functions. In addition, there are numerous service functions such as a watch list for the various applications that sends an e-mail with the corresponding link to all subscribers whenever a new entry is added. Every page or individual set of data (from the telephone directory or the organization’s handbook) can be added to favourites for quick and easy access. In addition, each service, specialist division and business section has the opportunity to present its own department on the intranet using multimedia and the content management system. The result is a central knowledge platform with a strong emphasis on in-house information management that vastly improves the in-house communications culture.

Austro Control is active in the areas of air traffic control in Austrian airspace and the construction and operation of technical air traffic control systems, aeronautical and meteorological services, the licensing and inspection of aircraft, the issuing of pilot licences, search and rescue and the supervision of flying schools. The new website outlines Austro Control’s fields of activity and related services. The comprehensive, advanced database contains a news database, a database of documents and forms, a contact database and a media database. A weather app is integrated into the service navigation and shows current weather conditions at every airport in Austria. An interactive slide deck in the header guides visitors through the company’s areas of work. Navigation is possible both horizontally and vertically. Soundtracks and video clips round off the presentation of the air traffic control section.

The digital presentation of the Austrian Film Museum’s collection of magazines provides an insight into the extensive collection of Austrian and international movie magazines and periodicals relating to the cinema. The collection comprises over 300 different titles (approx. 150,000 individual copies) and covers a wide range of themes (aesthetics, history, techniques, theory of cinema etc.) The processing and digitising of this collection is part of the education and dissemination strategy pursued by the Austrian Film Museum since its foundation.

checkpointmedia is responsible for planning andcarrying out the complilation and online presentation of the magazine collection. Together with the Film Museum a database has been devised for cataloguing and organising the extensive collection as well as for online search using various criteria such as title, year, language, publication period etc.

The aim of this project was to install a spatial intervention in the large foyer of Wiener Stadtwerke and use it to present the company in a visitor-friendly way. Several suggestions were put forward but in the end it was the info-lounge furnishings and ceiling projection that were chosen.
Centrepiece of the concept was the “Smart City”, the city of the future, and the presentation of Wiener Stadtwerke as playing a key role in shaping that future. Consequently, the presentation’s aim was not to focus exclusively on the company’s history and its fields of activity, but also to highlight its visions, innovations and forward-thinking strategies.
To this end, checkpointmedia developed the info-lounge furnishings as standalone items taking the classic museum wall display cases as its model. They serve as multimedia information carriers and can also be used as furniture. Viewed as a whole, the items resemble the sihouette of a modern city.

Each item is dedicated to a particular theme. Wiener Stadtwerke’s achievements and a brief historical outline of the company are presented under the title “Wiener Werte” (“Viennese Values”). “Wiener Leben” (“Viennese Life”) shows real-time data and fast connections in Vienna as well as the Viennese energy supply model. “Wiener Zukunft” (“Viennese Future”) provides information on forward-thinking solutions such as the smart grid, mobility on demand etc. The furniture provides facts and figures on the various topics, while the design follows the new corporate design, used here for the first time.
The items of furniture are sturdy steel constructions and are panelled with sheets of glass whose entire inner surface is laminated. The seats are upholstered with imitation leather. Each item of furniture has up to three monitors installed behind glass, and two of them also contain display cases. The furniture is on rollers and can be moved easily to meet the foyer’s multimedia requirements.
To complement and counterbalance the furniture and its factual, thematic focus a ceiling projection has been developed that combines technical complexity with a light and playful elegance. The projection shows animated depictions of Smart Mobility, Smart Energy and Smart City. Two moveable projectors each cast a circular moving image onto the ceiling. The two images move around like searchlights. This creates the impression that the projection is revealing a large ceiling fresco piece by piece as it moves around. In addition, the themes of the two film projections are in a dynamic relation to each other; they approach each other then move apart again.
The info-lounge furniture and ceiling projection form an innovative design solution that communicates a core message: Wiener Stadtwerke can look back on an impressive record of achievement spanning decades and is also well equipped to shape the living space that will be the city of the future.

Vienna International Airport (Flughafen Wien AG) is one of the few airports in Europe listed on the stock exchange. The company offers a complete range of services in connection with the development, construction and operation of the airport.
checkpointmedia undertook to generate Vienna International Airport’s online company report in German and English for the eleventh time. Special features include the interactive comparison of core figures, clearly laid-out graphs and tables whose lines can be highlighted and marked with a click, and a glossary function.
The online company report was generated using genesto®, a content management system for publishing electronic company reports. It was developed by checkpointmedia in cooperation with Mensalia Business Consultants.

The Austrian parliament's visitor centre gives groups and individual visitors the chance to explore in depth the history and workings of the Austrian and European parliamentary system as well as the history and function of the building on the Ring. In the course of an update, a media player was developed which displays new information quickly and simply via monitors and projections. The player was integrated into the existing applications of the big media wall and the time machine screens in the Press Centre and allows users to select images and videos in a wide range of formats at the touch of a button. In addition, the position of the displayed picture can be altered, as can the position and design of the "mask". This technology makes it possible, for example, to transfer photos immediately after they have been taken during an event and to display them - according to setting - in a softer tone. This immediately gives new items a professional appearance without the need for time-consuming processing and editing. Even where there are several media sources (e.g. PCs) that provide separate parts of an overall image synchronously, users can display photos and play videos without difficulty using the media player.

In accordance with its Statute, the mission of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) is to coordinate and unify the petroleum policies of its Member Countries and ensure the stabilization of oil markets in order to secure an efficient, economic and regular supply of petroleum to consumers, a steady income to producers and a fair return on capital for those investing in the petroleum industry.
Three "Wheels of Time" stations show a film produced by OPEC and checkpointmedia on the occasion of OPEC's 50th anniversary dealing with the creation of OPEC in 1960 and its development until today. By using a steering wheel as interface, the OPEC "Wheel of Time"-terminal enables the visitor to navigate through major time periods of OPEC history.
The "Who is Who" stations enable access to research and information on OPEC officials, member countries, events and headquarters via touch-screen interfaces.
The custom-made, very elegant terminals, which are movable on wheels, are made of powder-coated steel-sheets with a body of only 8cm and upended, 22" screens. They have been positioned in different parts of the OPEC building for the use of visitors, officials and the press.

Starting in January 2012 the website of the Austrian Film Commission is presented in the new corporate identity of the AFC.

Skalarmusic is a programme and information platform of Freundliches Marketing Service (FMS). Information about various musical events and festivals can be called up via this platform and tickets can be purchased online.
checkpointmedia was responsible for developing the website and for subsequently adding the press section with database link.

The traditional ball of Viennese Coffee House Owners, the Coffee Makers’ Ball, takes place every year in the Hofburg Palace, Vienna. Approximately 2,500 guests attend the event which is considered one of the largest and most important of the Viennese ball season.
checkpointmedia has developed online ticket and seat reservation for Viennese coffee house owners using the JART XML framework with integrated administration of all transactions, invoicing and postal dispatches and a CRM solution.

Groundline offers tickets online and in advance for city trips and sightseeing tours.
checkpointmedia has created a comprehensive, e-commerce solution for this Austrian supplier of city cards and tickets for airport transfers and sightseeing tours in over 60 cities of the world.

AGGM Austrian Gas Grid Management has taken over management of the Austrian gas grid. As an independent system operator, the company plays a central role, including cross-border, in supporting the operation of the gas market throughout the federal republic.
The website presents the new market model for gas and introduces the company. checkpointmedia was responsible for the conceptual design and development of the website.

Avanti is a chain of petrol stations operated by OMV Refining & Marketing GmbH with more than 110 branches in Austria.
checkpointmedia was responsible for developing the website, complete with petrol station finder and competitions.

The high standard requirements of the Hotel Sans Souci in Vienna, which opened just before Christmas 2012, required a hidden sound system as part of the luxurious furnishings in the rooms.
In cooperation with the hi-fi studio AudioEmotion GmbH, checkpointmedia transformed the existing semi-transparent mirrors, behind which screens are concealed, into loudspeaker systems.

A small device was developed to enable the permanent installation of ordinary PCs as multimedia controllers, used in museum installations, exhibitions, etc. Installations in these settings are either time-controlled or regularly switched on and off manually and thus it is important to ensure that computers start up and close down reliably. The checkpointmedia “butterbox” allows monitoring of the external power connection and reliably controls the switched-on computer.

The Technisches Museum Wien is offering its visitors a new way of discovering the world of knowledge on display at the museum. Groups of schoolchildren, and individual visitors too, can explore the exhibitions by taking part in a "treasure hunt". To adapt the game to different needs and levels the web tool "Rätselrallye Generator" ("treasure hunt generator") was created.

This web tool gives teachers, families and other visitors to the Technisches Museum Wien the chance to put together their own exciting treasure hunt. All in all there are over 640 questions and tasks to choose from. Users are free to select from four levels and eight exhibitions. If required, users can add their own questions, too. Once compiled the treasure hunt can be downloaded as a question-and-answer version. This contains an estimate of the time needed to complete the hunt, a general map and plans that show the different stages in every exhibition section.

Every treasure hunt can be saved for future use and can be shared with other users.

The web tool was developed by checkpointmedia in cooperation with the Knowledge Transfer Department of the Technisches Museum Wien and BDF-net (concept and graphics).

checkpointmedia presents its relaunched website with easy-to-follow navigation, expanded search functions that use various categories and additional information on projects and lectures. The content is transferred directly from a relational database into which core data on every single project ever undertaken is fed. This data can be organised using the accompanying images and texts (in German and English) and presented in various different formats. The new website focuses primarily on visual material relating to checkpointmedia's projects. Visitors to the site are given an overall view of the most important projects in the company's history as soon as they load the start page. The client and project sections have been given a completely new structure. Both now draw their content from a database. This makes it possible to search for complete information on every client and project according to various criteria (year, client's branch, service etc.). The database solution also means that the entire site content can be linked: in the list of clients, for instance, every project carried out for that client is shown along with a list of all the services provided in specific projects. A click on one of the services then shows all the projects for which the same type of service was provided.

The "Baku Flame Towers" stand on a hill near Baku Bay on the shores of the Caspian Sea in Azerbaijan. The project consists of three tower blocks that will house a hotel, flats and office units. checkpointmedia has compiled a study to show how potential buyers and tenants can be provided with information on the location, furnishings, amenities and surroundings of the property by means of an interactive information system. The installation's centrepiece is an interactive scale model, accurate down to the last detail. Flats or offices can be selected on a 30" touch screen and lit up on the model itself. As well as the information system a fast-motion daylight simulation and a presentation mode via iPad have also been developed.

The Competence Centre is dedicated to promoting and researching the field of intellectual property.

In 2011 the website was relaunched with a focus on the journal “ipCompetence” that is published every six months by MANZ as a supplement to the Österreichische Blätter für gewerblichen Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht (ÖBI, Austrian Gazette for Industrial Property and Copyright). The journal can be consulted online on the website.
The team at the Competence Centre for Intellectual Property have created a series of videos accompanied by slides that provide insights into the areas of trademark law, design law, patent law and copyright law.

All this makes www.departure.at the most comprehensive "marketplace" for the field of creative industries in Austria - and it is diligently managed by departure. All the projects presented on the site were pre-selected by independent juries as part of the departure sponsorship programme, which means they all meet a coherent set of high quality standards. This makes www.departure.at an essential research tool for companies in the classic fields of business that are looking for creative service providers, whether nationally or internationally. The platform was created by checkpointmedia using the JART Content Management System.

"Some things can be seen more clearly at night: ABENDLAND, Nikolaus Geyrhalter's new feature film, undertakes a long, associative journey, surveying Europe by night in all its many facets. Night work, obliviousness , noise and silence, linguistic confusion and translation problems, one's first steps in life, illness, death and desperate attempts to cross borders: all this is revealed by Geyrhalter's camerawork and in Wolfgang Widerhofer's careful editing, which produce an essay film with powerful images about a continent and the concept of "Abendland" (the western World), “which seems at times to give the impression that it is on the verge of breathing its last breath." (NGF) The website shows the film’s many facets. The start page enables visitors to get a flavour of the film by watching the trailer and draws them immediately into the subject. And since, as is well known, pictures are worth a thousand words, visual impressions form the backbone of the website. The full-screen background images in particular give a taste of the film's atmosphere. Dark colours used in the graphics accentuate the way the site's design reflects the film's subject. The gallery includes behind-the-scenes photos. Press articles and general information are available in the download section, as is an interesting interview with Nikolaus Geyrhalter. "Abendland" is on Facebook and can be shared with friends on the network via the website.

Max Pommer KG is a private property development company focusing particularly on the renovation of superior, old-style residential and commercial properties. The company is active chiefly in southern Germany. The new website presents the company, featured properties as well as current offers and projects. The featured properties are clearly presented with a wealth of images and all essential information enabling potential customers and other interested parties to quickly obtain an overview. Current offers are redesigned to match the style of the website by means of immobilienscout24 using iFrame, including various flags for organising the information and all the necessary data (images, map, contact from). This discreet link-in by means of iFrame ensures that all the information on the properties is always up to date.

Museum, exhibitions and research - the new website puts the spotlight firmly on the three central pillars of the Natural History Museum. The design has also undergone a significant change. The new website is user-friendly and has a contemporary design. The Museum of Natural History Vienna is one of the world's foremost museums of the natural sciences. Its oldest collections were compiled over 250 years ago. But this is no reason not to move with the times. The new-look website is the perfect gateway to discovering the fascinating exhibits. Large-scale, no background pictures give an idea of the valuable exhibits. Apart from an overhaul of the content and graphic presentation the site now boasts particular highlights such as the floor plan of the museum which makes it easier than ever to find your way round the various halls. The event pages also act as an attractive incentive to visit the museum.
The various options are sortable by category to enable visitors to find details about their favourite activity quickly and easily, from a night visit to the museum to a full range of children’s activities. checkpointmedia was responsible for consultancy, planning and editing the content and technical implementation using the JART Content Management System. The next phase of developing the website will include the addition of an online shop and ticket reservations.

The Österreichische Campingclub supplies tips and information on all aspects of camping, has its own travel information service and organises tours for all camping enthusiasts. The new website provides fast access to all these services. A route planner is available together with a comprehensive campsite search feature, which, by means of multiple search criteria options, provides detailed and customised search results. The site location is shown by GoogleMaps and visitors can send their inquiries directly to the management of the campsite in question if they so wish. Besides an online edition of the magazine CampingRevue and a shop, the website also includes a classified ad section where registered members can place and update ads. Under the menu item "Mein Club" members also have their own personal section for downloads, editing personal profiles, accessing articles from back issues of CampingRevue and much more besides. In addition, visitors can enrol for camping tours via the website that the ÖCC organises, swap information with other enthusiasts and arrange their own camping trips. The range of services is rounded off by recommendations for destinations and tours and handy hints relating to every aspect of camping.

The site's graphic design was supplied by the ÖCC. checkpointmedia took on the technical implementation using the tried and tested JART CMS.

In 2004, checkpointmedia cooperated with grayling (formerly known as Trimedia) to produce the CD-ROM on "Petroleum and Natural Gas - From Fossil to Fuel" on behalf of the OMV. The aim was to provide schools and other interested parties with an educational resource and information material in a modern form. Within the context of this project, checkpointmedia was entrusted with designing and producing the CD-ROM - from editing to copying. Together with some 50 experts from the OMV, the checkpointmedia team created around 150 pages of text and hundreds of graphics and animations.

The photo archives of the OMV and many other companies and organisations were searched in order to provide a wealth of illustrative material. With the aim of creating a product that was perfectly suited to the needs of the target group, teachers and pupils provided valuable input in a series of feedback and trial sessions. The contents were then completely revised and updated in keeping with the latest developments in research and production. The CD-ROM is available in English and German. Usability is continually being improved on the basis of user feedback.

The meteorite collection at the Museum of Natural History Vienna was founded in the 19th century and has been continually enlarged ever since. It is renowned as the world's largest collection of this type and contains quite spectacular finds among its diverse exhibits. For the new installation of the Meteorite Gallery, a concept was developed in partnership with Arno Grünberger/spurwien to devise a modern method of knowledge tranfer, which sensitively combines the existing architecture with multimedia elements and exhibits. Video clips integrated into the historic glass display cases show pictures and in-depth information on specific topics, such as "Where and how can I find meteorites?", or "What are meteorites made of?" The topic of "Impact" includes an animation simulating the nosedive of a meteorite crashing to earth, as well as the collision and the subsequent crater formation. In addition, statistics relating to average meteorite hits per year are presented, along with the probability of a large object falling to earth. A dramatic presentation of the birth of the solar system is installed in the gallery in a large monitor installation, which never fails to excite the emotions of the public. An interactive hands-on station shows the creation of the elements and explains their origins in space. Visitors can look through a magnifying glass to see extraordinary facet patterns: information on structure, composition and special features are displayed on a screen behind the object. In an interactive quiz, visitors can guess whether an exhibited meteorite and stone pattern really did come from the skies or whether they originated on earth.

The concept study aims to present "Vienna in 2025" as a Smart City in the foyer of Wiener Stadtwerke. With this initiative, Wiener Stadtwerke are positioning themselves as thought leaders and active engineers of this future vision. Innovative technologies and the corporate vision of Wiener Stadtwerke (social responsibility, sustainability, staff motivation, anti-discrimination, equal opportunities, proportion of women employees) have been incorporated into the concept. checkpointmedia has developed several items of lounge furniture, which also function as exhibits and information carriers and together form a corporate museum, offering the visitor an insight into the company's various spheres of activity. A spatial intervention in the form of a ceiling installation conveys a vision of the "Smart City" - City of the Future. The objective is to stimulate communication. Various themes are presented in different media designed to attract visitors' attention, not only in order to provide information but also as a means of entertainment.

A three-dimensional media installation depicts living structures, with a focus on dynamics, movement and transformation. The overriding idea of the concept study is the thematic relief of microspheres, macrospheres and living spheres as three-dimensional and arranged according to size. The work is inspired by shapes from the world of chemistry and macro-photos of BASF products. Design /molecule: a glass wall shows a large-scale and highly detailed graphic image (molecules). Behind this, an abstract film is shown on a low-resolution, diffuse LED video wall. Rear projections of animations or films are shown in truncated spheres, which extend the graphic forms into three dimensions. The graphics evoke associations of molecules or "drip painting". Design/PVP (Polyvinylpyrrolidone): fractured forms consisting of glass surfaces form a new wall showing a large-scale graphic. Individual light chambers project colours and intensities, creating an overall choreography. LED projectors are employed in the chambers, which use reflection and partial rear projection to show animations or films as details in the wall. In combination with the coloured light of the illuminated chambers, special colour zones in the graphics cause the effacement or enhancement of selected areas of the picture. Static graphics come to life.

Volksbank Hamm is a cooperative bank, which means that its customers are also its shareholders. For this reason, it has been decided to create a completely new and unique consultancy and events centre which will serve the following functions: on the one hand, providing consultancy and training for members in the form of seminars, while on the other hand conveying information by means of a multimedia exhibition in a specially constructed events tower. The aim is to present the difficult and complex relations existing in the financial sector in a clear and simple manner, which is also accessible for the layperson. Interactive media stations dealing with particular issues and individual areas of finance and banking will be set up on five storeys as a means of transferring knowledge. In this way, the process of customer consultancy also becomes a media experience, and customers and shareholders are empowered to enter into a dialogue with the bank. The media technology for the exhibition, as well as the multifunctional infrastructure of the events centre, were planned by checkpointmedia.

The Palais Coburg is the former residence of the princely House of Coburg-Gotha. Its history as a building encompasses six centuries, all apparent in the various layers of the building. The hotel and gastronomy business accommodated in the Palais is positioned at the high end of the market and offers its public a corresponding ambience. A comprehensive audio-visual system has been set up in the "Silvio Nickol Gourmetrestaurant Palais Coburg", with the aim of of enhancing the sensory delights of the guests' dining experience. Two cameras transmit kitchen operations live on two display screens in the restaurant. A high-performance sound system integrated almost invisibly into the architecture provides for homogeneous sound distribution in the restaurant area. A customised media control system has been programmed to operate the audio-visual components.

The Information Office of the European Parliament and the Delegation of the European Commission functions as a link between EU institutions and people and institutions in Austria. The objective is to keep information flowing in both directions. The media technology devised for the EU Delegations supports this objective with flexible and multifaceted audio and video equipment. The audio system consists of several subcomponents, which are combined into an overall system. Besides the sound system, a wireless conference system is available, as well as a mobile sound system for hearing-impaired participants. The video technology offers options for video projections, laptop presentations and for recording events, for which three remote-controlled, fixed ceiling cameras are installed in HD quality. Camera signals can be processed on a video mixer and transmitted to the screens and video projection or recorded on DVD. In addition, there is the option of transmitting the video signal of an event or presentation to the internal TV network. The AV system is controlled by means of a mobile touch panel. The acoustic control of the system is performed via a mixing board, which is integrated into a mobile media carriage together with video mixer, preview monitors and camera control unit.

The Salzburg Easter Festival is regarded as one of the most celebrated and prestigious festivals of classical music in the world. Besides the major orchestral concerts performed by the Berlin Philharmonic in the Grosse Festspielhaus, the chamber music cycle KONTRAPUNKTE, also devised and performed by members of the Berlin Philharmonic and originally conceived by Claudio Abbado, has firmly established itself as a festival highlight. Since 2010, checkpointmedia has been responsible for the website of the Salzburg Easter Festival. In 2011, the site was redesigned in keeping with the Easter Festival's new CI. Overall the aim was to achieve stronger visual contrasts in order to make individual sections more clearly distinguishable from one another. In addition, an online ticket booking service has now been included for KONTRAPUNKTE as well, thus extending the range of services available to visitors to the Salzburg Easter Festival. Orders are processed via a link between the booking procedure and a database.

For the ERCO showroom in Vienna, checkpointmedia has supplied a discreet ambient sound system with a media player and speakers built into the ceiling. One of the system’s advantages is its simple self-running operation.

The art collection and archive represent the cultural memory of the University of Applied Arts Vienna and make a key contribution to its identity. The origins of the collection date back to 1900. Since 2004 the art collection and archive have seen themselves as a research institution that records and presents the University’s past and present by means of exhibitions, publications, the extension of the data base and joint projects. The collection currently comprises about 60,000 items from all areas of the fine arts and applied arts, design and architecture as well as archive material of former students and teachers.

The start page of the website, created by checkpointmedia, shows the five sections of the art collection and archive: the Art and Design Collection, the Oskar Kokoschka Centre, the Archive, the Victor Papanek Foundation and the Costume and Fashion Collection. A series of alternating images provides glimpses of each section. Each section is underlaid with descriptive text.

The website’s design by Anouk Rehorek is deliberately understated so the eye focuses on the pictures in the gallery. To ensure the pictures are protected from improper use they have been watermarked.


Besides the extensive galleries of objects, the website also provides information on the many publications on the collection’s main areas of interest and research activities.

The "Digital Media Protection Center for Naxi Dongba Culture" was conceived as a digital archive that preserves the heritage of the Naxi Dongba culture while at the same time offering fascinating insights for around 300,000 visitors a year by means of a multimedia presentation. On behalf of Odelga Handelsgesellschaft m.b.H., checkpointmedia carried out an analysis of the original plans of which the use of digital TV and movie stations were a central element. In cooperation with Ina Ivanceanu and Heidi Dumreicher, checkpointmedia subsequently developed its own concept that focuses more on modern exhibition didactics and technology with a view to increasing attractiveness for a target group. The aim of the exhibition concept is to present the heritage of the Naxi Dongba culture authentically and not as a folkloristic spectacle. The museum should provide a wide-ranging presentation of aspects of everyday life and the various festivities, including handicrafts, religion, literature, music and the Naxi's unique form of pictographic script. In keeping with the Naxi's way of thinking, the focus was on showing the individual embedded in the social context. Society, on the other hand, is seen in connection with nature and spirituality. The feasibility study carried out by checkpointmedia, included suggestions for the centre's architecture, visitor routes, exhibition design, presentation of content and drafts of the individual multimedia stations. Proposals for the technical implementation and marketing of the museum project were also drawn up.

NGF (Nikolaus Geyrhalter Filmproduktion) was founded in 1994. The company specialises principally in producing feature-length documentaries for theatrical release that bear the author's stamp as well as work for quality television programmes. The development of feature film productions and a growing interest in international cooperation point the direction in which the company aims to go in the future. NGF is particularly interested in assisting young, interesting and promising European cinema talents of the present and the future in producing their films. NGF films have already won numerous international awards. The NGF website was relaunched by checkpointmedia using JART. Geyrhalter & Company (a branding agency and communications designer from Los Angeles) were responsible for the graphics. The new website provides comprehensive information on NGF productions, presented in a clearly structured layout. YouTube videos of movie trailers are directly incorporated into the site and offer interesting introductions to the films. Special attention has been paid to linking up to social media platforms such as Facebook. In addition the site navigation has been revised. There are gallery-style overviews and more filter categories which enable users to find the production they are looking for as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Diagnosezentrum 10 offers a range of diagnostic services such as x-rays, mammography, bone density tests and ultrasound. The centre has two sites, one at Columbusgasse and the other at Buchengasse and details of both can be found on the website. The website also presents the staff team and provides information about services and pre-examination instructions.

Musicticket is the ticket sales platform of Freundliches Marketing Service (FMS). Information about the season’s most important musical events can be called up and tickets purchased online.
checkpointmedia was responsible for linking the ticket website to the central administration database (events, artists and information).

Covering an area of some 22,000 m², the Technisches Museum Wien offers ample space for interesting insights into the world of technology. Unique exhibits from days gone by to the present day make the museum a place where fascinating technological developments are waiting to be discovered. checkpointmedia took on the technical implementation of the new website on the basis of a concept and layout provided by bdf-net.com. Around 200 items from every category have been made accessible to users. All the exhibits can be displayed on a general map of the museum. The map shows an overall view of the whole building as well as detailed plans of each floor. For those with particular interests a special list is available on which items and exhibits to remember can be noted. In addition, all the members of the Technisches Museum Wien team are presented on the website.

The festival for fashion & photography was held in Vienna for the sixth time in 2011, boasting a multi-faceted programme of events focusing on fashion, photography and theory. This year the Viennese Museum für Völkerkunde (Ethnological Museum) was the main venue for the event.
checkpointmedia was responsible for creating the website for the annual festival using the JART Content Management System.

Following on from the first concept for a "treasure chamber" in 2003, a new attempt to present archaeological finds from Wattens was made in 2007, as part of a joint initiative with Arno Grünberger/spurwien. The idea was to present the town's industrial history as well. An existing building in the centre of the town was to be adapted for the new concept. In this concept, architecture takes up the theme of "layers" with respect to both the material and the design. The building is faced with a pre-stressed second façade, and the lift in front of it is shifted out of its axis, so that it becomes a "time tunnel", enabling the visitor to look back into the past. This approach is pursued further in the design of the exhibition. What happens at any location creates overlayering - physical and/or temporal - which then has to be excavated layer by layer. This process of excavation is accompanied by interpretations, and these in turn create their own layers, by means of which the past is viewed. The multimedia presentation operates with these layers, crossfading animation, sound and interaction. Only the artefacts are real, yet they are no longer isolated, but embedded within a context. The history of Wattens paper is commemorated by means of an installation in the form of a waterfall (water as a "working material" and as a watermark), combining the elements of information and staged presentation. A virtual picture book and an interactive model of the town demonstrate the development of Wattens and the role of the Swarovski factory within this context. Following a decision by the local council of Wattens, the project was rejected for budgetary reasons in May 2011.

 

checkpointmedia conducts a study into the possible new ways that visitors could be guided round the Karlskirche in Vienna. The aim is to allow visitors a glimpse behind doors and into rooms that have previously been inaccessible so that they can experience every facet of this baroque jewel's architectural and cultural history.

Consulting on the production of an interactive tabletop for OMV to be used at the "World Gas Conference 2012". Creation of a concept and interaction study in collaboration with the Fuchs and Freude agency on communicating complex subject matter using multi-user, multi-touch interaction. The concept, which was evaluated in a workshop with the client, aims to enable the effective presentation of the numerous business areas and fields of work in which OMV and the EconGas Group are involved. An interactive map serves as the basis of the application. The interaction is operated either by touching the table surface or by means of tracked pucks, which are embedded in it.

After having installed all the media equipment in the new OPEC headquarters in Vienna (conference rooms, TV studio, offices) checkpointmedia was invited by one of the OPEC members, Nigeria, to assist in upgrading the conference rooms of the National Petroleum Corporation.

To this end, checkpointmedia compiled a comprehensive concept and detailed plan for installing state-of-the-state media equipment in the rooms.

In several workshops, checkpointmedia developed the basis for the reworking of the graphics and structure of the ERSTE Sparinvest websites.

The focus was on an analysis of the current state of the existing sites on the one hand and on benchmarking them with comparable local and international products on the other.

In cooperation with the foreign subsidiaries a strategy was elaborated and initial drafts developed that were subsequently presented to the board of directors.

Bioinfo.at is an information platform that provides in-depth background knowledge on the subject of organic foods. The site features descriptions of a wide variety of organic products as well as a recipe database and a list of places selling organic products.

The relaunch focused on updating the content and structure of the texts and improving the site's graphics. In the course of this work, new headers were added, along with a newly designed start page and multimedia content. New features, such as a competition and surveys, are regularly added.

checkpointmedia was responsible for the copywriting and the technical implementation of the site. The concept, graphics and revised content are by the agency Rock+Partner.

As part of the multimedia presentations in the visitor centre in Vienna's Parliament building, checkpointmedia has installed a big media wall consisting of 24 rear projection units. In 2010 a new animated film was planned and produced for the media wall. The film serves as an introduction to the visitor centre and demonstrates the options available to visitors in animated sequences in German and English.

The website of the Vienna Boys' Choir has been administered by checkpointmedia for many years. In 2010 a webshop was added. The webshop of the world-famous boys' choir is used by admirers from all over the world to buy CDs, DVDs, souvenirs and digital downloads.

The Wiener Akademie Orchestra plays a leading role in the fields of classical concerts and opera and has performed in the foremost concert halls of Europe and the world. The orchestra plays period instruments, offering the audience music that reverberates with tones from the eras in which the pieces were originally composed.

The new website deliberately avoids baroque elements and has a modern, pared-down style. The highlights include a practical concert calendar with archives, a list of CDs and DVDs available for sale and a comprehensive collection of press reports.

A mirrored showcase with a monitor has been installed in the foyer of the Vienna Konzerthaus. The showcase was developed by checkpointmedia and informs visitors, in an innovative and very impressive way, about the wide variety of events that can be staged in the concert rooms.

The aim of the post-graduate Master’s Programme "Art & Science" is to generate synergies between various visualisation cultures and to exploit knowledge and research strategies for artistic and scientific model and theory formation.

The Imperial Palace (Hofburg) in Innsbruck is, along with Schönbrunn Palace and the Hofburg in Vienna, one of Austria's most culturally significant buildings. After renovation work that lasted a total of 15 years the Palace was reopened to the public on 18 June 2010. Austrian President Heinz Fischer officially reopened the Palace in the presence of 400 guests. checkpointmedia fitted Empress Maria Theresia's baroque state rooms and the Imperial Apartments with unobtrusive media installations that describe the history, uses and renovation of the Palace using historical and current images.

The Diplomatic Academy of Vienna is a postgraduate school, dedicated to preparing university and college graduates for careers in the civil service, trade and industry and for positions of leadership in international organisations and the EU. checkpointmedia is responsible for the new design, concept and implementation of the website. Besides a new look it also boasts a wealth of additional features: target group navigation, service navigation, online shop, event calendar, extensive photo galleries, full text search and much more. Apart from the public access sections, the site also has several restricted access sections containing exclusive information and services for specific target groups. For example, students at the Diplomatic Academy can consult their own individual course timetables online and make their own entries, register for lectures and career talks, carry out evaluations online or download course material. Most of the new website is in three languages. Besides the numerous new additional features, the centrepiece is the online application process for the various study programmes.

To celebrate the firm's 175th anniversary, Bertelsmann published the anthology "175 years of Bertelsmann - the legacy for our future" which provides a review of the company's development since 1835. It spans the entire history, from humble beginnings in a small lithographers' workshop in Gütersloh to the worldwide concern of today and reveals what was, and still is, the key to Bertelsmann's success. Following a planning and production period of over a year the publication was made available to the approximately 100,000 employees of the Bertelsmann concern free of charge. The multimedia elements - a bonus DVD with rarely seen photos and film material plus an animated history - were planned and produced by checkpointmedia. Users can interactively "explore" the history of the Bertelsmann company using a 3D navigation tool. The main element of this tool is a cube that can be turned using the cursor. Each side of the cube represents a different period. When users select a period, the timeline appears as a virtual road that takes them through the most important events - each of which is represented by a 3D excerpt. Each of the milestones can be clicked on. This opens a brief summary and a submenu from which rarely seen visual material and video clips can be selected. In addition, users can apply specific filter criteria to select which milestones are displayed so they can focus on particular aspects of the Bertelsmann story.

The anthology published in 2010 won platinum at the prestigious Inspire Awards of the League of American Communications Professionals (LACP).

The globally operating Slovenian Gorenje Group used genesto for the first time to create its 2009 online company report. The report was published in two languages, Slovene and English. Gorenje decided not to produce a printed version. Despite this, the latest annual report is available as a PDF file. But unlike the traditional approach, the PDF version was not created from the printed report but from the online report. The media sculpture "Energiehaushalt" (Energy Management) is a column, four metres high and half a metre wide, displaying the office building's daily energy production and consumption processes. Entries are continuously supplied by the building's smart-metering system. Energy losses and yields are displayed in real time. The installation functions on two levels: on the one hand, values are visualised aesthetically and rendered as an abstract image composed of lines and colour fields - a kind of modern, generated painting; on the other hand, the image changes from day to day, allowing passers-by to read the building's energy balance. Detailed and in-depth information on the building's energy values can be obtained via a touch screen located in the middle of the stele. Completion is scheduled for the end of 2012.

<p id="">The exhibition used a combination of architecture, artefacts and multimedia to create a total experience. A walk-in encyclopaedia offering visitors a tour of the city of Salzburg presented various additional topics reflecting the vision of the founding fathers: ”The whole city is a stage.”<br>checkpointmedia created a website especially for the exhibition that provided prospective visitors with detailed advance information on locations and themes and also included a folder that visitors could download to plan their own individual tour.</p>

Under the motto "175 years of Bertelsmann - the legacy for our future", a web-based multimedia chronicle was created in 2010, providing access (in some instances for the first time ever) to a great number of texts, images, audio and film records from the Bertelsmann archives. Navigation solutions were found which matched the diversity of the media company. The chronicle could be accessed via a floating, freely rotating cube, whose sides each represented one era of the company's history. A timeline showing the milestones in virtual media stations provided the basis for a virtual trip through 175 years of Bertelsmann. The corporate history was linked with the experiences of customers and the public through the opportunity to interactively contribute personal memories and share them with other users.

OPEC presents itself in its new headquarters in the centre of Vienna as a global organisation and leading player in the global economy. Technical equipment needs to meet the demands of the organisation’s high profile and provide a superlative infrastructure for employees, journalists and guests. In order to provide for internal communications, presentations and external media presence, a comprehensive video and audio system has been installed in the large auditorium, the press conference room, and the smaller meeting and conference rooms. The entire system can be remote-controlled from a technical station, where the audio signals can be recorded or transmitted to the TV studio and other conference rooms. All connections and output options for presentations (e.g. on a video wall or table-integrated, extendable monitors) have been put into place. The conference room has been equipped with a professional lighting system, guaranteeing a TV-compatible illumination of the podium. A TV studio directly next to the press conference room provides scope for video editing, web streaming, satellite transmissions and in-house signal output. Fixed cameras installed in the conference rooms can be remote-controlled from the TV studio, transmitting images in broadcast quality and high definition. There are numerous connection options for external camera teams. Uplink satellite dishes have been installed on the roof of the new OPEC headquarters so as to avoid connection problems in the densely built-up urban area. Information stations with a documentary film on 50 years of OPEC and a "Who's Who" database complete the technical equipment providing information and insight into the organisation and its work.

As a conductor and organist, Martin Haselböck is a well-known figure in various capacities on the international music scene: he quickly made a name for himself as an accomplished organist, playing under conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Lorin Maazel, Riccardo Muti and Horst Stein. Conductor Martin Haselböck commissioned the development of the concept for the new internet presence and its technical implementation. The website provides fans and journalists with the latest information. The full script of the comedy, the programme of music and comprehensive press reviews are available on the site, together with multimedia material enabling visitors to gain a detailed impression of the work. The website is regularly updated and optimised: it includes current tour dates and will soon be expanded to include sound samples.

A website with games for young visitors has been specially developed by checkpointmedia to arouse interest in the museum. There are four games available on the website:

In 2010, the Salzburg Festival celebrated its 90th anniversary. A traditional style exhibition with panels, objects and models seemed inadequate for presenting the sheer variety of artistic brilliance. Consequently, the displays and texts were "fanned out" to reflect the scope of the Festival's history. Soundtracks and spoken excerpts from key documents in the history of the Salzburg Festival became generators of exhibition areas, which then carried the content in the form of timber "ribs". As a result, the history of the Salzburg Festival was physically brought into the room: visitors could not only view the events but move around in them. The timber “ribs” were connected by a timeline that traced the development of the Salzburg Festival over the decades. In this way it was possible to present not only individual personalities and their work but also the connections to political and social events, and the ambiguities, caesuras and continuities that shaped and still shape the Festival. The individual exhibits were placed on the surfaces of the "ribs", thereby freeing them from the restraints of the traditional, two-dimensional form of presentation. This created "windows", opening up views into 90 years of Salzburg Festival history. Costumes and an "Everyman" installation protruded out of the "ribs" into the surrounding space and across the visitors' path. The high point and grand finale of the tour was the central installation of the "World Stage" - a stylised stage with multimedia features. The media installation " The Great World Theatre" was a "meta-performance" distilled out of the leading productions of the last nine decades and reassembled into a new presentation. The stage was an abstract model, quoting and replicating all the stages and venues of the Festival, quite in the spirit of Max Reinhardt's motto, "The city as stage". The projection was devised using the so-called "augmented reality" approach: the projectors were focused onto the model, capturing its form pixel by pixel. A different video could be played on each of the model's 22 surfaces arranged on the stage area.

The Vienna Fashion Festival 2010 boasted 30 separate, national and international events and with 12,000 visitors, it broke the visitors’ record for 2009.

The Frequency Festival is an annual Austrian music festival that has been taking place since 2001. It is visited year after year by tens of thousands of visitors primarily from Austria and Germany. A phono preamplifier is a circuit that is used to restore the original analogue audio signals of vinyl discs. On the master of a vinyl record, the treble frequencies of audio signals are boosted beyond a certain frequency in order to avoid surface noise and bass frequencies are attenuated to prevent the stylus from jumping out of the groove. A phono preamplifier equalises these analogue signals again after playback and routes them to an amplifier. Simple circuitry is often fitted in amplifiers that have a record deck input, and very expensive systems are often offered as external units. checkpointmedia has taken over seven years to develop phono preamp circuitry with absolute state-of-the-art features that uses pure single-ended class A technology without a single capacitor in its direct audio signal path. This modular, discreetly designed phono preamplifier is compatible with all stylus systems and provides very flexible compatibility options. Stylus systems are connected in fully balanced mode, thereby eliminating capacitive coupling. This circuitry is currently still housed in experimental enclosures. A high-end enclosure with the same quality features will be designed once development of the audio preamplifier has also been completed.

"Dippler" is an exciting game in which points are won by combining fruits. Accompanied by music and a host of effects, players have to make rows of three, four and five matching fruits. The higher the score, the higher the level and the greater the excitement, because the game only lasts two minutes and only the best players make it into the top 10.

The main highlights include the option of uploading pictures into the database using drag and drop and the integrated click counter, which shows how many times a particular article has been clicked on.

Besides the selected article, the presentation on the website also displays a preview of the five celebrity stars with the most clicks. Articles can be selected using either a search field or the A-Z bar.

The culture planner, developed by Graf Moser Management GmbH, is a management information system aimed specifically at the cultural industry. It is installed on existing systems and gathers all the data it needs for analysis and planning via interfaces. To demonstrate how easy the product is to use and to illustrate what it is capable of, checkpointmedia has produced a flash animation to show how the culture planner can support the needs of different cultural enterprises. checkpointmedia is responsible for the planning, graphics and flash programming.
