Centropa is an international research project on the subject of "Jewish life in Central and Eastern Europe" that was initiated by the American journalist and photographer Edward Serotta. checkpointmedia is developing an exhaustive online archive with texts and a picture library, which has been compiled using personal interviews conducted by Centropa staff all over Central and Eastern Europe. One of the project's sponsors is the Shoa Foundation (Steven Spielberg).
