Project Details
The Mozarthaus Vienna is expanding its offerings with an innovative, freely accessible installation in the left window next to the museum entrance. Designed, planned, and implemented by checkpointmedia, this mechanical installation invites visitors to engage with Mozart’s image in a playful way.
Backlit, rotating cylinders display various historical portraits of Mozart, divided into five segments. These individual segments spin at varying speeds and in different directions, continuously recomposing Mozart’s face. This kinetic animation evokes the charm of an 18th-century music box, creating a unique visual experience.
Visitors can position themselves in front of the iconic Mozart silhouette and capture the dynamic display in photos and videos—an interactive selfie point, perfect for social media.
