Technisches Museum Wien has close connections to the history of checkpointmedia: the re-opening of the museum in Vienna in 1999 createdan opportunity for the first collaboration between the later founders of checkpointmedia, Virgil Widrich, Stefan Reiter und Stefan Unger. Together they created 100 new media stations for the sections "Nature and Knowledge", "Heavy Industry", "Musical Instruments", "Energy and Transport" and also set up the museum's media infrastructure. Their combined expertise in the areas of project management, hardware and software as well as content was the starting point for the business enterprise of checkpointmedia. The sound system in the main hall of the Technisches Museum Wien was designed for use in large-scale events. Four multi-functional line-array loudspeakers can be turned in various directions at the touch of a button and are equally practical for public addressing and for creating sound scenarios for events. A media controller provides for an intuitive operation of the system, featuring simple and swift retrieval of alignment and sound presets. A touch panel serves as interface for this controller. In 2011, checkpointmedia won the tender to create the new website of the Technisches Museum Wien.
