More than 2,000 undergraduates study at the University of Applied Arts. The wide range of arts disciplines, which is supplemented by a large number of science subjects, contributes to the unique atmosphere at the University.
checkpointmedia’s technology and web department installed two upright info screens in the University’s auditorium and side entrance. The screens are 55” monitors with strong brilliance. The text and images are supplied via a locally installed content management system (JART). The particularly strong brilliance of the monitors and the large lettering make reading easy even from a distance.
Both screens display current activities at the University. The information itself can be selected directly from the website by the editors and can be pre-defined using a timer control. A variety of different types of media can be used to present the information: the screens show not only texts and photo galleries but also videos and live streams. Particular attention was paid to the appliances’ reliability: the most recently synchronised content is displayed even when there is no connection to the network.
The content is provided using the new version of JART, Version 4. Database items can be selected several times and loaded onto the info screens, so that the list of daily and weekly events is generated almost automatically.
