WIFO is Austria's leading institute for application-focused empirical economic research. Founded in 1927, WIFO analyses and forecasts economic developments in Austria and abroad.
Before it went online in April 2013, the WIFO website was given a visual and technical makeover by checkpointmedia. A sophisticated gradation of user authorisation levels offers employees, external stakeholders and association members access to relevant content.
The content management system used for the site integrates both WIFO’s Oracle publication database as well as WIFO economic data, displayed as an interactive chart on the website.
The employee database and the publication database with over 9,300 publications in various forms and formats have both been integrated into the website, with the addition of a filter and search function for research topics and functions. .
The webshop, which is based on the publication database, has been upgraded and now offers various access levels, concessions, details of publications, as well as the mPay24payment system wih a range of payment options. .
A calendar module providing details of new publications, events and press reports has also been created.
In conjunction with the new mobile version of the website, WIFO’s research findings are now available in an attractive form to a wide audience in English and German.
