checkpointmedia created the website for the organisation “XBRL Austria”. XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) is an electronic language for the encoding of financial information. It is used for the clear labelling, description and above all exchange of information. Standardisation facilitates dissemination and publishing on the one hand and the evaluation and comparison of financial data on the other. XBRL taxonomies exist for all major accounting guidelines (US GAAP, IAS, HGB etc.). XBRL is based on XML (Extensible Markup Language) technology. The organisation’s aim is to support the spread of XBRL at national and international levels with a view to standardising reporting standards for financial and corporate information.
